Bibliography

ABOUT

The System Dynamics Society bibliography is regularly updated with new literature in System Dynamics. It currently features over 12,000 references from various sources, including the System Dynamics Review, conference proceedings, and other publications. This bibliography also encompasses review articles, personal bibliographies of contributors, and findings from database and internet searches. Contributions are encouraged.

Our bibliography is fully searchable and sortable. It includes all the information in the legacy version bibliography and more.

Additions and Changes

To add or modify an entry in the System Dynamics Bibliography, use the provided submission form link or email a spreadsheet of publications to raquel@systemdynamics.org.

Acceptable submissions include:

  • Journal articles
  • Monographs
  • Books
  • Chapters in edited books
  • Audio-visual materials
  • Dissertations/theses.

Only published resources should be submitted. Papers in any language are welcome; however, translations for non-English entries and transliterations for those in non-western alphabets are appreciated. Entries from the System Dynamics Review and Society conference papers are automatically included in the bibliography and do not require submission.

History

The Bibliography was first distributed in machine-readable form at the Society’s 1990 Conference. It has since been enlarged, systematized and edited by William Steinhurst and Kip Cooper through 1995. The bibliography then was passed on to Jennifer L. Ferriss. William Steinhurts and Nan Lux were also major contributors. Currently updates are conducted by the SDS office. Cumulative bibliographies from many practitioners and reference sources have been collected and combined in a consistent format.

Legacy Version

Original bibliography maintained in End Notes available in .csv, .txt, and .xlsx.  As of 1 January 2021 it is no longer maintained, but remains available for download.  The files are large, most will want to download only one of them
