Abstract for: Photovoltaic Plant Production Dynamics
This paper details the process that was followed in the development of a photovoltaic plant production simulator using a system dynamics methodology. The objective in developing the model was to understand the key variables that impact photovoltaic plant production in various provinces of South Africa and to do scenario analyses of the impact of orientation, tilt and load profile impact for samples of the residential sectors. The simulator was validated using production data from a photovoltaic plant at the Eskom Research, Testing and Development premises in South Africa. This paper will focus on the development process of the simulator that was followed.
