Taxonomy of publications
One of the functions of a SIG is to identify and classify work that have been published in it’s area of interest so as to increase awareness and to identify gaps that future research might fill. We present below two abstracts of papers (with the papers attached) presented at the Society’s 2009 conference that attempt to fill this role. These are work in progress. The author would welcome suggestions for enhancement to the classification and for additional work that should be included.
A Review of System Dynamics Pedagogic Techniques
A number of papers have been published describing various pedagogic techniques for the dissemination of the System Dynamics (SD) approach at various Education institutions and academic levels ranging from schools (K-12 in the US) to higher education. This paper builds on previous papers by this author that provided a catalogue and classification of this work in order to highlight potential areas of research in this field of study and to identify system archetypes at different hierarchical levels and discover new ones. This paper builds on the earlier taxonomy by extending the Teaching Practice section. The findings from these investigations are briefly described. The taxonomy is “work in progress” comments and suggestions are welcomed.

A Review of System Dynamics Models of Educational Policy Issues
A number of papers have been published describing various System Dynamics (SD) models of various Education institutions and issues, on topics including the role of SD in Corporate Governance, Planning, Resourcing & Budgeting, Teaching Quality, Teaching Practice, Microworlds and Enrolment Demand. This paper builds on previous papers by this author that provided a partial catalogue and classification of this work in order to highlight potential areas of research in this field of study and to identify system archetypes at different hierarchical levels and discover new ones. This paper therefore presents a Review of System Dynamics Models in Education. This paper builds on the earlier taxonomy by widening the scope of the survey of completed SD investigations in educational management. The findings from these investigations are briefly described. The Review classifies the completed investigations into seven specific areas of concern and five hierarchical levels.
