Jack Homer says " I'm not asking questioners to censor themselves, but
have rather asked that the inexperienced think twice before laying out a
thousand-word treatise attempting to answer (from their perspective
typically coming from some other field, and ignorant of ours) something
already well answered in our field."
I agree that it is perfectly reasonable that people with questions that
may have come up before should investigate before posting old questions
- but how are they supposed to do that?
If you put yourself in the position of a SD-newbie and imagine a
reasonable question you might have - then go hunting around the SD
website and see how easy or hard it is to find an answer.
.. Isn't this precisely what a Wiki is ideal for? I am sure there are
many on this list who know a lot more about them than I ... Suggestions
anyone?
