ANNOUNCE New SD business discussion group (SD6662)

Hello all,

Due to growing interest I have initiated a new group on the above field:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SDS_SIG_Business

I have the feeliing that the decisions managers take today in a growing 
globalized world have more and stronger uninticipated side-effects (of 
course there are "just effects" as John Sterman makes the point in his 
lectures) then we ever thought.

Still companies are closed sub-organisms and the whole business world and 
decissions are not always clearly overseen -in time and space- even insight 
the company. The playing of the Beergame shows this everytime it is played 
and we all know that is just a small and incomplete model of a specific 
part of the business world. It clearly shows the shortcomings and effects 
certain decisions have on other parts of the system or the whole.

The group shall be the place where system dynamicists can exchange their 
ideas on how to connect business life -respectively people- better to the 
ideas of system dynamics in order to decide in better ways to the whole 
system.

PS.: The present active group http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/sdsbizsig 
will not be eliminated and perhaps the two groups will merge in the future 
again. For now the new group has the aim to propell the discussion amongst the 
-business-SD- practioneers;-)
