Dear colleagues,
Simulation is a powerful research method but little used in the
discipline of Information Systems. Those interested in such topics
are invited to submit a research paper for the CFP reported below.

Thanks!,

Track chairs: Assoc. Prof. Manuel Mora, Prof. Doncho Pekov

************** CALL FOR PAPERS ******************************
             IS Research Methods Track
2008 International Conference on Information Resources Management (Conf-IRM)
http://www.sprott.carleton.ca/conf-irm/

Submission Deadline: December.01.2007

Track Co-Chairs:
Manuel Mora, Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, Mexico,

Doncho Petkov, Eastern Connecticut State University, USA,

TRACK COVERAGE

The increasing complexity of the phenomena studied by IS Research has
fostered the inclusion and emergence of new research methodologies,
paradigms and philosophical stances in the IS research arena. Due to its
diversity and accelerated development as well as the lack of integrative
tradition, the IS field is fragmented. Furthermore, it has been suggested
recently an associated new problem: gthe tyranny of methodologiesh
(Gallup, 2007) where the ghowh is overvalued on the gwhath and the
gwhyh of the research. Considering the importance of improving our
understanding of the theoretical frameworks (Ffs), the methodologies
(Mfs) and the situational areas (Afs) under study (Checkland, 2000) to
integrate IS as an interdisciplinary field, the IS Research Methodologies
Track calls for papers that contribute to such a purpose, by presenting
studies on research methodologies, paradigms and philosophical positions,
used by or suggested for IS Research, as well as the results of their
applications.

RECOMMENDED TOPICS
The IS Research Methodologies Track encourages the submission of research
papers, research-in-progress papers, and panel and workshop proposals in
the following topics (this is not an exclusive list):

¡	Philosophical stances, paradigms and frameworks for IS Research
¡	IS research methodologies
¡	IS research under the systems approach
¡	IS interdisciplinary research
¡	IS multimethodologies research
¡	Ontologies for IS research
¡	IS research and consulting
¡	IS research dilemma: rigor vs. relevance
¡	IS research and its disciplines of reference
¡	IS research core topics for the next 25 years
¡	IS research methodologies tyranny problem
¡	IS graduate body of knowledge
¡	IS curriculum and IS research methods
¡	IS integration with Software Engineering and Systems Engineering
¡	IS research and complexity science
