BOSTON CONFERENCE INFORMATION: The different sections below cover:

PROGRAM ITEMS:
*Featured Plenary Speakers include Jay Forrester, Dennis Meadows and
others who will talk about the future of system dynamics. For details on
all the many pre- and during conference program items, ceremonies and
events, please visit the conference website.
*Modeling Assistance Workshop: Modeling assistance opportunities include
two workshops, as well as the opportunity to obtain modeling assistance
any time during the conference. This offering enables modelers with all
levels of modeling ability to obtain feedback on their specific modeling
questions from modeling coaches. Please contact Rod MacDonald at
rod at isdps.org if you are a modeler interested in receiving assistance.

*Navigator Program: A special one-on-one event for first-timers.
First-timers and veteran attendees will be brought together based on their
topics of interest. The veteran attendee will provide information to help
the first-timer maneuver through the conference resourcefully and get the
most out of the conference experience. If you are a first-timer and would
like to benefit from this program, please check the box on the
registration form as a first-time participant. If you would like to
volunteer as a navigator, please contact James Melhuish at
jamesmelhuis at gmail.com
*Diagram Slam: Compete to create the most innovative
stock-flow/causal-loop diagram.
*Events of historic interest: The newly reprinted book "The Electronic
Oracle" by D.H. Meadows and J.M. Robinson with forewords by Dennis Meadows
and John Sterman, and the video "Fireside Chat" with Jay Forrester and
George Richardson, will make their debuts at the conference. Other
history-related events celebrating the 50th anniversary will be announced
at the conference.
LOGISTICS:
*Special Room Rate: We encourage you to stay at the Seaport Hotel. A
special room rate has been negotiated. Please see the room reservation
request form for information on room sharing (up to 4 people in a room)
and reduced rates for student rooms. Hotel reservation deadline is June
21; sooner is better.
*Conference Roommates: If you are looking for a roommate, please contact
the Society office for coordination suggestions.
*Complimentary Two-Night Weekend Accommodations Prize: The winner will be
randomly selected from registrants whose registration form and payment are
received by the Society office on or before June 6th.
SOCIAL PROGRAM:
*Guided Tour at MIT: Advance sign-up is required. Available on Sunday,
July 29 and Thursday, August 2. Please see the conference website for full
details on this tour.
*Informal Gathering on Sunday: During and after registration in the Aura
Bar and Lounge from 1 PM until 8 PM.
*Freedom Trail Walking Tour: Monday at 10 AM. For more information please
contact Jeanette Abad at jeanette.abad at paconsulting.com.
*Monday and Tuesday night dinner time: Included for registrants is a
"Neighborhoods of Boston" buffet on Monday evening along with the Poster
Symposium, and the Conference Banquet dinner on Tuesday evening. For
anyone not registered for the conference (spouses, guests) to attend,
please purchase the Social Program Ticket on the conference registration
form.
*System Dynamics Talent Show: Amateur musicians, comedians, actors, and
Forrester-impersonators have been claiming spots in the first ever SD
Talent Show. Recent entries include Diana Fisher, Martin Schaffernicht,
John Morecroft, John Gunkler, and a band called the "Causal Loop Singers"
led by Andy Ford and George Richardson. If THEY can do it, you can too!

*Museum of Fine Arts' Concert-in-the-Courtyard Music Series: Those of you
in Boston on the evening of Wednesday, August 1, should check out a
concert by a high-energy group: Andy Palacio and the Garifuna Collective

details.
