Re: Post Job Openings/Career Information at the 2007 Conference

Dear Colleagues,

Plan to post your organization's job openings or company/university
profile on the SD Career Link bulletin board this year - and forward
this message on to your colleagues who might wish to do the same!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the field of
system dynamics. Practitioners, academics, and students from all over
the world will be celebrating this special occasion at the International
System Dynamics Conference of 2007 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, July
29 - Aug 2. The System Dynamics Society is offering your organization
the opportunity to post job openings and/or career information for
persons with system dynamics expertise on the SD Career Link bulletin
board at the conference. This conference will be especially
well-attended because of the special events planned to mark the
occasion.

The Society has an ongoing goal to promote awareness of positions in the
field of system dynamics, and facilitate the exchange of information
between organizations seeking candidates and individuals seeking
positions. Finding individuals with system dynamics expertise can be
challenging. Similarly, students, academics, and practitioners can have
difficulty identifying and assessing the range of positions in the
field.

The SD Career Link conference bulletin board is designed to help
organizations like yours recruit individuals in the field of system
dynamics and systems thinking. It will host information about 1)
specific job openings and 2) general career information. You can provide
information for one or both.

1) Job Openings - Advertise your current openings in our Job Listings
section, for any level of required expertise located in any geographical
region.

2) Career Information - Describe how system dynamics fits into your
organization, including typical jobs and career paths, in our
Company/University Profiles section. Even if you do not have job
openings at the present time, this allows your organization to provide
information about system dynamics opportunities, to supplement the more
general information contained on your corporate or university website.
Such career information is valuable to current as well as future system
dynamics students, academics, and practitioners, and we urge you to
describe the use of system dynamics expertise in your organization.

Our intent is that individuals and organizations will have the
opportunity to schedule candidate meetings during the conference in
Boston, or soon afterwards, as a result of the posting on the SD Career
Link bulletin board. If you would like to have potential candidates
contact you at the conference, be sure to provide your local contact
information in addition to your permanent contact information in the
field "Contact name and information".

You will find the two forms needed to provide this information available
on the web at http://www.systemdynamics.org/Job_Profiles/forms.htm .
Even if you do not have a current job opening, we encourage you to fill
out the Company/University Profile as this will serve to provide useful
background information to those with current as well as future careers
in system dynamics.

Please email the forms to navidg at gmail.com no later than July 15 to be
included in the conference.

We look forward to your participation!

Sincerely,

Deborah
