Good points Eric.

(re RE: REPLY SD Impact on National Government Policies (SD6174))

If the number of members of SDS just represent the "tip of the iceberg"
and "There are many, many users of ST and SD who do not see the society
as relevant to their needs, since it does not have the status of an
accredited 'chartered' body that is essential to practice" - then:

Maybe it is time for the Society (SDS) to consider forming a 'chartering
accreditation" branch? This might help give SD wider 'professional
acceptance' in the international community, as well as give the field
more status in 'academic departments' in universities & polytechnics
around the world.

I am a 'chartered member' of the Institute of Logistics and Transport
(NZ branch of an international UK based organisation) and I can
certainly confirm some of the advantages of being a chartered member of
that community.

Maybe it is time for us to (re)examine the issue of Chartered Membership
in System Dynamics??

All the best for 2007.
