Hi Nancy,

A few years ago, some colleagues and I developed a simulator based on an SD
model of a media business that included a traditional print newspaper and an
online business.  The online component had the characteristics of what you
describe as a portal business.  The simulator deals with the dynamics of
shifting from print to online as well as how to run each component
profitably in a shifting market.  You can read more about it by downloading

diagram on P. 21 of the paper will give you a good idea of how we modeled
