         Graduate students: Share your developing research in a constructive environment.
         Educators: Involve colleagues around the world in what systems thinking and simulation can do for K-12 students.

Overview

The 2011 System Dynamics Conference will bring together diverse perspectives on the application of modeling and simulation to important issues in the theory of complex dynamic systems and the practical use of these tools to address critical real-world challenges. The conference will benefit from its location in the Washington, DC area by including plenary and convened sessions that focus on applications and impact in governance.

Program

The conference program will consist of invited and contributed sessions and workshops demonstrating the state of the art in the theory and application of system dynamics.

In addition, the conference schedule will include panel discussions, special interest group sessions, student colloquia, the modeling assistance workshop, events of historic interest, vendor displays, exhibits, demonstrations, Society business meetings and other related activities. The conference schedule will provide time for relaxed social and professional interaction.

Location

Historic Washington, DC is a political, economic and cultural center, and it is just a quick subway ride away from the conference venue. This unique city is filled with exciting and memorable places—not only famous national landmarks, monuments, museums, galleries and universities, but also historic neighborhoods where cultural heritage is rich, vibrantly reflecting the city's diversity. DC is home to the world's largest museum complex, the Smithsonian Institution. The National Mall and many presidential memorials, including Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson, are among famous sites to visit. The city also boasts of magnificent architecture, including the White House and Capitol Building, a lush Botanic Garden and the unforgettable National Zoo.
