There is actually another class of time stamped process materials beyond conveyors and queues and this is pure delays stamped at the time of input in which components can pass one another (stamped at the time of output is a special case of a FIFO queue). The Vensim functions DELAY MATERIAL/DELAY INORMATION work this way as does DELAY PROFILE if I remember correctly. Also even though a fixed period infinite order delay is a conveyor without leakage that function is so commonly used as to warrant its inclusion as a basic function.

Good point, Bob. In Smia the functions are called delay item (for material) and delay message (for information), respectively. Smia has not delay profile, at least not yet.
