India Chapter Information for Members

Post by Karan Khosla » Mon Sep 09, 2013 11:00 pm

Dear friends and members of the SDS India Chapter,

I hope you have had a productive summer and that this note finds you well!

I'd like to take a few minutes of your time to share with you an end-of-summer 2013 update from the India Chapter Governing Council:

1) The SDS India Chapter signed an MoU with the Club of Rome India Chapter to expand systems-based analysis of emerging issues related to the economy, environment and society in the Indian Subcontinent.

2) Please visit the newly redesigned website (still in beta):

3) If you participated in the SDS Boston conference in July, please send us your pictures so we can upload them to our website. Furthermore, if you'd like us to include your research to the case studies repository on our website and share it with the wider SD community, please send us PDF summaries of your research.

4) There have been a number of systems thinking workshops across the country, please keep us posted in advance about your systems thinking and modeling activities; if you plan to organize workshops we can inform members via our new website.

5) The governing council is in the process of updating the membership criteria to increase participation, contribution from the community as well as to provide greater benefits. If you have suggestions about how the Chapter could increase participation through membership please let us know.

6) In international news, this year, the SD community awarded the Lifetime achievement award to Dr. John Richardson for his work in sustainable development and public policy.

7) Both Vensim and iSeeSystems have made significant changes to their software packages:
- for information on Vensim 6.1, please visit:
- for information on Stella 10.0, please visit:

There are a number of activities in the pipeline planned for 2013-14, if there are any issues related to Chapter activities, please keep us posted via email

Best Wishes,

Karan Khosla

1. The discussion forum on the SDS India Chapter web site is heavily spammed - will someone be moderating this forum?

2. When you try to go to the second page of the forum, you get the message:
Service Limit Reached!
There are more topics in forum, but the free version of this software is only able to display the 15 most recently active topics.
To allow unlimited access to this forum the admin needs to upgrade.
