Re: Accreditation and Certification for System Dynamics: Mee

Thanks Etiënne.

I will add that isee systems is looking at adding a Certification program to fill this void and have been in talks both with earlier incarnations of your committee and WPI around this idea. We are starting with a Systems Thinking certificate this fall, but plan to add SD soon.

XMILE 1.0 Approved by OASIS

Last Thursday, OASIS officially approved XMILE 1.0 as an OASIS standard. Hooray! This has been a decade-plus-long process. It is now time to start examining how XMILE can be updated and advanced to be even more useful, and also to clarify some ambiguities in the 1.0 specification. We are starting a ...

Re: Incorrect floating-point numbers in sample model

Re: Handling model variables not mentioned in a view

The problem is that there are indeed popular SD modeling packages that do not require that all variables appear in a view. To be compatible with them, this clause is necessary (but you are right that the use of XMILE-compliant is confusing). In such packages, those variables do not appear in any vie...

60-day Public Review of XMILE 1.0

On Monday, July 20, 2015, the XMILE Technical Committee voted unanimously to submit the XMILE 1.0 specification dated 29 October 2014 as a candidate OASIS standard. We had to wait several months to meet the requirements of OASIS. At this point, there will be a 60-day Public Review and then a ballot ...

Re: Back to basics?

Hi Magne, The module object in iThink is, as Bob says, just a vanilla container for a submodel. It has no equation and is not integrated, but its name is important as it qualifies names of variables in that submodel when they are used outside that submodel. The module object has inputs and ou...
