The Athenaeum InterContinental Hotel Athens is one of the most prominent hotels in Athens with a significant history of hosting conferences. The hotel boasts excellent views of the Acropolis and Mount Lycabetus. It is located within the financial district, and within minutes of Plaka (under the Acropolis) filled with restaurants, shops, museums and attractions.

Internet Facilities: High Speed Wireless Internet connection is available in the guest rooms, meeting rooms, public spaces and the business center. Vouchers can be purchased from the hotel for several package options of Internet minutes, hours, or days.

Please designate a smoking or non-smoking room.

We encourage you to stay at the hotel and have negotiated a special room rate which includes a full breakfast to keep the conference affordable. A limited number of rollaway beds are available, offered on a first-come, first-served basis; there is no charge for the roll away bed when the room is rented as a triple occupancy. Room reservations should be made directly with the hotel. To receive the special room rate you must specify your booking is related to the System Dynamics Society Conference. The special room rate will be honored for three days before and after the conference, upon availability, if you wish to extend your stay. Please make your hotel reservation by June 20, 2008. After June 20th, availability within the rooms in the conference block and the special room rate are not guaranteed.

Room Cancellations :
Until 27 June 2008: No cancellation fee will apply if a room cancellation is made by this date.
From 28 June till 17 July 2008: One night room and taxes cancellation fee will apply for any room cancellation during this period.
From 18 July up to day of arrival: Two nights room and taxes cancellation fee will apply for any room cancellation or reduction during this period, or in case of a no-show.

Remote Guest Room Payment: All attendees must have a physical method of payment to submit at the time of check-in OR must have a physical method of payment on file with the Hotel in the form of a Credit Card Authorization Form. A Credit Card Authorization Form will be used to resolve any second party credit card payment issues. If incidental charges are not authorized within the completed Credit Card Authorization Form, an alternate method of payment will be required upon check-in for incidental charges only. The form can be found on the Society website.

Complimentary upgrade to a Standard Junior Suite: The Athenaeum InterContinental Hotel Athens is offering a prize of a complimentary upgrade from a standard room to a Standard Junior Suite at their hotel. The Standard Junior Suite is a larger space ( 65sqm), which includes a separate office area with a small round table for meetings. The winner will be randomly selected from registrants whose registration form and payment are received by the Society office on or before May 30th.
