In autumn 2000 Eric Wolstenholme as VP Publications solicited the help of the publications committee of the society to create a shortlist for the post of Executive Editor to replace Graham Winch. Particular attention was given when choosing the candidates to be approached to their credentials to fulfil the post, their level of interest in being the Editor, the time they had available and the level of backing from their Institutions. Six people have now been approached. There is one definite candidate and one still considering the possibility. A decision will be made in the near future in time to be announced at the Atlanta conference and to take post in Autumn 2001.
