Integrated Enterprise Portfolio Management
The Portfolio Management concept was conceived in the 1960s as a way to logically group and manage monetary investments specifically identified and selected to comply with the investors tolerance for risk and meet quantified, portfolio specific objectives and outcomes.
Recently, this concept has been identified as a useful mechanism for managing business activities. Unfortunately, implementers in the business context often lose sight of the original intent and purpose of the portfolio management concept.
