||The Climate Service Center Germany, an independent scientific establishment within the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht, Centre for Materials and Coastal Research, invites applications for a Scientific Researcher (m/f). The position is initially limited to three years.
The project IMPREX is designed to support the reduction of Europe’s vulnerability to extreme hydrological events through improved understanding of the intensity and frequency of future disrupting features that may be very different from today’s reality. The Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht is in charge of the sectoral integration and climate services work-package which will provide a bridge between the scientific results of the project and the implementation of adaptation and water management strategies.
The position will focus on independent, self-governed research on the integration of climate and climate impact models and socio-economic models, to provide a good basis for decision making processes in the water and agricultural sectors.
||We are looking for one individual with a minimum of a PhD degree in the following subject areas qualifying the holder to carry out the above-mentioned responsibilities: environmental economics, environmental sciences, agricultural engineering or related fields. You should be an independent thinker, with research experience on international projects on system dynamic modelling. You should have hands-on experience with system dynamics in a transdisciplinary context. Experience interacting with stakeholders is a must. Applicants should have the ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, to conduct research, with good communication skills, demonstrable experience in scientific writing and public speaking abilities. We expect you to be proficient in English; knowledge of the German language is valuable. You should have demonstrable experience communicating results in international conferences relevant to the topic; publications in international journals are a valuable plus.
